Hi lovelies,
I have decided to do this in three parts as it would take too long to do it all in one lol. Myself and L were invited to a christening in Liverpool on Sunday and L really wanted to go as it was his cousins baby and he hasn't seen them in ages.
as we don't live in Liverpool anymore but an hour away, I suggested that we stay in a hotel in Liverpool center for the weekend, but L decided it was too expensive to stay both Saturday and Sunday night so decided to book it for the Sunday. This was fine until I realised that not only had he told me he booked the Hilton then didn't, but on Saturday night told me that the christening was at 10:30 Sunday morning and the party started 12pm. We had planned to set off early anyway because we had heard something about the tour De France and some roads were meant to be shut and we weren't sure which ones but I had planned on being able to get ready in the hotel before hand because no one wants to drive in their best clothes really. He assured me it would be fine and although we would miss the ceremony we would be able to check in early and be ready in time for the party and only a few people were going to the ceremony anyway and one of them hates me.
So I packed my stuff (he had said he would do it while I showered and stuff but he fell asleep so I ended up doing it anyway) and his stuff too and we set off really early.
There was no traffic at all but a few people did nearly cause crashes, not with me but with people in front of me which set me on edge a bit. And as I've never driven through Liverpool centre, L had to direct me and what a laugh that was!! He was giving me no warning at all to turn, like I would be past the turning and he would say oh turn left there! And he was telling me to be in the wrong lanes, it was such a good job I was the only car! There were a few times when the lane split into two but in a way that meant if I carried on at the positioning I was then I would be in both lanes so I asked him what lane to be in and he said 'this one' which didn't help at all! Or he would say stay in this lane but actually mean move into that lane! I got so stressed!! He then directed me to the wrong place and I had to do an illegal u turn and go back on myself! I was so relieved when we finally got to the docks where we wanted to be!!
It was still really early so we paid for parking and then went for breakfast at the wetherspoons, which was surprisingly busy and full of irish men drinking alcohol already! I was a bit shocked as it was only 9am on a Sunday morning! We had the breakfast wrap and orange juice but my wrap had minging black things in it so I left it.
We went shopping a little, but as I am on a spending ban all I got was glamour magazine (which I am subscribing to this month) and he got clothes for the holiday, trainers, and bits and bobs. He did let me look at the makeup counters in Debenhams but it's not as much fun if I can't buy things! He was looking for a dress shirt as the one he had wanted to bring he couldn't find so he had to bring his other one which he doesn't like as much (my fault obviously). He just wanted a cheap one so went into primark and saw one he liked the look of but wanted to see what it looked like on. When he went to try it on though the woman said he couldn't but could try a shirt of the same size on, he explained that he knew his size he just wanted to see the style and colour but she said he could only try a plain white long sleeved one. He said it didn't matter and the girl rolled her eyes at the other worker there and glared at him. The other girl said well just try the white one on and stop making a fuss. I don't normally say anything because I am shy but she had been glaring at me while I was looking at shirts with him earlier so I already didn't like her but when she said that I saw red. I said to her 'firstly he is not making a fuss he has said it doesn't matter and we are going to leave it makes no difference to us. And secondly when you buy a dress that you like the colouring and pattern of do you try it on to see if it suits you even though you know your size?' 'Well yeah obviously' she said giggling, I asked if she would buy it without trying it and she laughed again and said no so I said 'well aren't you a bit out of order laughing and rolling your eyes at him and making comments when all he wants to do is something you do every time you buy new clothes. ' she didn't know what to say. I don't like to be rude but although we didn't understand it we weren't making a fuss, he had said it didn't matter and gone to leave but they made a fuss of it. What would you have done? I said it calmly and didn't talk down to her or lose my temper.
Anyway, we had a look in a few more shops (where he could try the shirt on) but he didn't like any of them so we ended up just going back to the car.
We had a walk around the dock which brought back good memories as we had our first date there so it was nice. And then we went to ask if we could check in early.
At first they said there were no rooms available so I asked if there was anywhere I could get changed and explained why and she said we could check in early if we didn't mind having an internal room.
The room was actually the nicest I've stayed in in this country, the window just looked on to a feature rather than outside but the air con was amazing so that didn't bother us and it had brick walls and a brick ceiling so felt quite rustic. We loved it!! The bed was massive and we had everything we needed for the night.
We got ready super quick and although L had said we would get a taxi he changed his mind. I was wearing a dress and really high wedges so I wasn't too happy about walking from the docks to the met quarter as I couldn't walk very well but he made me anyway to get the bus. We actually ended up missing the bus and getting a taxi anyway so I was fuming as I had twisted my ankle (didn't fall though) and was in so much pain.
But this is where part 2 starts.
I hope I haven't bored you so far :-)
How has your weekend been?
